"I Want a Wife" by Judy Brady is yet another essay that is pro-feminism, and pro-women's equality. In her essay, Brady explores the endless tasks women do for their husbands, including, but not limited to, keeping the house clean, being sensitive towards their needs, being careful to not complain. While this essay shows similarities to "Lost in the Kitchen" by Dave Barry, Barry's discusses a grey area whilst showing both sides of the story. Brady simply neglects the idea that men have any significance within a relationship whatsoever, and narrow mindedly grips onto her beliefs.
While my personal beliefs may not be compatible with that of Brady's, she still composed a well written essay that certainly delivered her point across. Luckily for her, Same Sex Marriage was legalized this year, so her wants can now be turned to reality. I agree that women have many responsibilities, but in turn, I believe that men share the same amount. Regardless of my opinion towards the matter, Brady's essay was still extremely well composed thru use of biting sarcasm.
